Raymond FishRay Fish received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Clark University. He received the MD degree from the University of Chicago. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has practiced that specialty for 25 years. He is a Research Professor at UIUC. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine at Urbana. Honors and Awards: Fellow, American College of Emergency Physicians. Ray Fish's work in the Beckman Institute has brought together engineering, clinical medicine, and law. Several studies have investigated the clinical and research possibilities of using ultrasound to diagnose medical conditions, measure blood flow, and analyze tissue properties. Ray Fish's publications on clinical issues have been on a variety of topics including trauma, laboratory tests during resuscitation (prolonged cardiac arrest), physician and hospital responsibility, and electrical shock. Ray Fish has a special interest in the interaction of law with medicine and medical engineering. Working with attorneys, he has written three books and a number of papers on medical-legal topics.
